The A2circuits usbISO+ device is a data and power isolator for USB ports, supporting Low, Full, and High-Speed transfers. The isolation barrier helps to reduce or eliminate issues such as ground loops in measurement and audio systems, as well as protecting the primary side (HOST) in case of surges or short circuits on the secondary side (DEVICE). Additionally, the power isolated by the A2circuits usbISO+ is boosted and then stabilized to achieve low noise levels regardless of the power source, even when using an external power supply.
PRIMARY SIDE | SECONDARY SIDE
- USB-B input port, connect it to the PC using LINDY cable
- TVS (surge) protection
- CM & ESD filter
- Built-in DC converter, max. 300 mA!
- Isolator circuit
- Output voltage regulator
- Resettable 500 mA fuse
- External DC input, only 9 V, max. 500 mA!
- USB-A output port, plug devices for power and transfer
Additionally, the built-in resettable fuse will cut off power delivery if excessive current draw leads to the device exceeding its permissible temperature. The final protective features of the A2circuits isoUSB+ include anti-surge TVS diodes on power lines, low-capacitance ESD diodes, and common-mode filters on the differential high-speed signal lines. During transmission, the USB signal is processed by a branded chip from Analog Devices Inc., utilizing iCoupler® technology, which reduces jitter.
The A2circuits isoUSB+ device is ideal for use with:
- Digital-to-analog audio devices: ADC, DAC, A/D interfaces – headphone, guitar, microphone, etc.
- Measurement devices: oscilloscope, signal generator, SDR, etc.
- Prototypes of electronic devices: breadboards or evaluation boards, microcontroller programmers.
- Devices powered by high DC or AC voltages, where short circuits, breakdowns, or strong capacitive coupling (sometimes felt as tingling upon touch) may occur, such as 3D printers, RC models (e.g., drone, vehicle, and airplane programmers, e-bikes, etc.), CNC machines, PLC controllers, and more.
